Low power laser

Low power laser is relative to the strong laser, engineering, science and technology, medical circles to the low power density or low energy radiation laser called weak laser, also known as low intensity laser. Refers to a low-power laser that does not cause irreversible damage to the target tissue when directly irradiated with this laser. It is often used in biomedicine as a source of physiological stimuli for scientific research and clinical treatment. The radiation power of low-power laser is usually a few milliwatts to hundreds of milliwatts. People are usually more concerned about the radiation intensity, that is, the light radiation power per unit area (mw/cm2). The radiation intensity of continuous laser used in medical and cosmetic applications is generally not more than dozens of mw/cm2, mostly several mw/cm2.

At present, low-power laser therapy has been widely used in clinic, such as weak laser external acupoint irradiation, weak laser acupuncture, weak laser blood irradiation and so on. In recent years, this emerging physical therapy (weak laser medical therapy) has been widely favored by doctors and patients. As the American laser medicine expert Walbasht said in the book "Application of Laser in Medicine and Biology": "Laser biostimulation may be a sign of a new type of laser application in medicine, which is more valuable than the application of laser destruction and incision of tissue".
